Healing after Betrayal

I thought I was living the Fairy Tale.

Married to the man of my dreams, active in my faith, raising beautiful, healthy children, sharing family dinners and date nights — doing all the “right” things I’d been taught to do all my life.

Then, without warning, it all came crashing down and my whole world shattered as I discovered my husband of almost 20 years, living a secret life of lies and deceit.

I had been a stay-at-home mom to our six kids for the majority of our marriage, I had no college degree, and found myself alone in another state — divorced, heartbroken, and so scared. I couldn’t even fathom how I would be able to get through this. It wasn’t even close to the path I had imagined for my life.

But here I was.

And yet, one day at a time, (and honestly, sometimes just an hour at a time 😜)… strength kept coming, support kept coming, and I kept moving forward. There were still hard days, but I experienced so many tender mercies from Heaven, incredible support, and random angels that would help me make it to the next step. I discovered that even after the ultimate betrayal; joy not only returns, but it can be greater than it ever was before! Now I am happily remarried and even got 4 bonus kids in the deal!

Reading Missy’s book reinforced the belief in me that the sun will always keep rising, miracles are all around us, we are never alone!

I have been able to help other women in similar situations to rediscover their confidence and reclaim their hearts. Shame doesn’t get the final word! Healing is possible, and there is still so much hope!
